Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as cold laser therapy or photobiomodulation, utilizes low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate cellular processes within the body. It’s a non-invasive treatment that has been explored for various medical conditions, including temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

In the context of TMJ problems, which can include symptoms such as jaw pain, limited jaw movement, clicking or popping sounds in the jaw, and muscle tension, LLLT aims to address the underlying causes and alleviate associated discomfort. Here’s how it works:

Pain Relief: LLLT has been shown to help reduce pain by affecting nerve function and decreasing inflammation. It can stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain-relieving chemicals, providing relief from TMJ-related discomfort.
